Equipamentos

Este o novo Modelo TS480 da Kenwood que será um dos equipamentos utilizados na expedição.                                                                 

Com a potência de 100 watts vai permitir a utilização de todas as bandas de HF dos 10, 12, 15, 17, 20, 30, 40, 80 e 160 Metros possui também os 6 Mts.                        

Permite também a ligação directa a um computador portátil através dum Straigh Cable com duas  fichas fêmea DB9.

Este excelente transceptor possue todas as capacidades  permitindo ao Expedicionário adaptá-lo ás suas necessidades . 

Equipment

This is NEW Kenwood  TS480 with HF and 6 Meters is realy an excelent choice for DX'pedinionary. 2 Models 480 SAT 100 Watts HF and 50 Mhz with AT, needs a normal power supply. Other Model 480 HX 200 Watts HF and 50 Mhz, NO AT, needs 2 (two) power supplies.

Compact construction with DC 13,8 Volts operation. Outdoor use is facilitated by DC Voltage 13,8 V operation and compact dimensions: the 3,2 Kgs main unit measures 179mm (W) X 61 mm (H) X 258 mm (D), while the 0,5 Kg control panel in 180 mm(W) X 75mm (H) X 37mm(D).

Built-in automatic antenna tuner.

For quick band changes, the TS480SAT is equipped with an automatic antenna tuner with presets that covers all amateur bands from 1.8MHz to 54MHz. It can also provide up to 100 Watts RF output (HF/50MHz).

RX/RX AF DSP

16-bit AF digital signal processing offers such powerful features as noise reduction, TX/RX equalizer, and AF filters. The equalizer offers flat (default) , high boost (2 types) , Format pass, pass boost (2 types) conventional and user settings for transmit and receive.

Slope tune can be used to move target signal away from noise using hi-cut and low-cut filters (SSB,FM and AM), while width allows adjustment of the passband to avoid adjacent noice (CW/FSK)

Other features

Include a quad-mixer that provides RX dynamic range in the TS-950 class, PSK31 compatibility, packet cluster tune (with TM-D700E/A), PC-based control, and optional IF Filters.

N1MM Free Contest Logger

The software can be downloaded via the links at internet. It's a freeware program designed to do contest logging and some general logging.

It is not a general logging program with award tracking etc. but it is mainly a contest program.

Also very good for using as a DXpeditionary tools on any laptop .

The program can be used on Windows 95/98/ME and on Windows NT/2000/XP.DOS is not supported.

Try to use this log software and explore all facilities.

Radio interfacing

Interfacing to a radio is done directly with a serial cable (straight or crossed) . Every brand has it's own solution for it, also they have there own commands when changing frequency, changing band, etc. So always look in the manual what to use with your radio what to use.
